Validar wird von seiner Herzogin regiert. Sie ist aber keine allmächtige Herrscherin, sondern wird vom Rat der Barone gewählt. Dort hat jeder Baron des Herzogtums Sitz und Stimme. Die Herzogin ist, der Tradition der Naldar und Razash´Dai folgend, immer eine Frau. Sie repräsentiert das Reich nach außen, wahrt den Frieden unter den Baronen und gebietet über die Freistadt Benediktshafen. Die Barone herrschen über ihre Lehen und heben Soldaten für das Heer aus. Mit ihren Steuern finanzieren sie die Ausgaben der Krone.
Validar is ruled by the Duchess. She is not an almighty leader though. The Duchess is chosen by the Council of Barons, by way of a vote. Each barony has a seat and a vote in this council. The Duchess, following the traditions of the Naldar and the Razash´Dai, is always female. She represents the realm to the outside world, keeps the balance and the peace among the barons and governs the free city of Benedikts Landing. The barons rule their fiefdoms, muster soldiers for the army of the Duchy and with their taxes, they finance the expanses of the crown.
Rat der Barone – Council of Barons
Im Rat der Barone hat jede offizielle Baronie Validars einen Sitz. Wichtigste Aufgabe dieses Gremiums ist die Wahl der Herzogin. Alle drei Jahre tritt der Rat der Barone zusammen, um abzustimmen, wer das Herzogtum in den kommenden Jahren regieren soll.
The Council of Barons is made up by one representative of each barony. The most important task of this institution is to elect the Duchess. Every three years, the Council of Barons gets together, to decide who shall wear the crown of Validar.
Der Kronrat – The Crown Council
Dieser Rat trifft allgemeine Entscheidungen für das Reich als Ganzes. Hier werden Ämter wie der Marschall, die Investigatorin oder der Reichsvogt bestimmt. Im Kronrat haben die Barone und die Herzogin Sitz und Stimme.
This council is charged to decide most important matters, concerning the Realm as a whole. Here dignitaries such as the Marshal, the Investigator or the Bailiff are chosen. The Crown Council is made up of the Barons and the Duchess.
Der Morgenstern – The Morningstar
Der Morgenstern ist die Stimme der Elemente in Validar. Er interpretiert ihren Willen und ist oberste Autorität in Glaubensfragen. Der Morgenstern krönt Herzogin und Barone und kann ihnen ihr Amt auch versagen, wenn sie nicht im Sinne der Elemente handeln und wirken sollten.
The Morningstar is the voice of the Elements in Validar. He discerns their commandments and is the highest authority in matters of the faith. The Morningstar crowns the Duchess and the barons. He can also deny them their right to rule, if they should not abide by the will of the Elements.
